This installation was reported to be easy, there being a lot of room under the kitchen sink behind the pots and pans. The control cable was run from the HS300UK control unit pluged into the wall socket, along the top of the work surface to the side of the kitchen units, passed through a small 4mm hole drilled in the end cabinet unit, taken down under the cabinet voids by the floor, run along to the temperature sensor junction box. The final exit route for the saved water was through the green garden hose and passed straight out through the wall to the garden area. In this installation, the hose was taken directly to 'trickle water' the runner beans at the bottom of the garden, 60 feet away.

This installation was quite tight but as the valve, self cutting tap and temperature probe junction box are small and able to fit almost anywhere amongst the pipes, completion was straight forward with the red flexible connection pipe. The final exit route for the saved water was through the green garden hose taken through the side of the bath side cover near the wall, under the bath itself and out through a 18mm hole drilled in the wall from the outside. The control cable was taken from the HS200UN control unit (attached to the wall tiles with double sided foam rubber sticky pads) down by the side of the bathroom cabinet, passed through a small 4mm hole drilled in the side of the bathroom cabinet and under the sink to the temperture sensor juntion box.

The HS200UN was neatly placed on a local shelf in the bathroom with the control cable being passed through the wall behind it, thereby remaining completely hidden. The instructions to change the preferred temperature are clearly shown on the label.

In this bungalow, the water was transferred to the bathroom via a pressure pump, the top of which is just visible at the bottom of the picture. The diversion water valve has been plumbed directly in line with the take off pipe and the water is pumped back to the hot water system's header tank. The inline valve (with red handle) next to the valve has been added to isolate the take off pipe if the valve should need servicing. In this installation a self cutting tap is not used and a permenant  T-off is made via direct plumbing using a copper pipe T fitting into the hot water feed pipe. Although this T is not near the hot tap, the amount of water saved is still very significant. The temperature sensor box and control cable are easily visible.

The picture on the right shows the temperature probe attachment to the copper hot water pipe. The spring ensures a constant pressure of the tip (where the temperature sensor element is located internally) onto the pipe surface and is surprisingly effective.

The picture above shows the inside of the junction box, as delivered, before the user has connected the control cable, which would enter from the right. The top of the temperature sensor (with the two white wires protruding from it) can be seen in the very centre of the board. The two pairs of screw terminal blocks are the only low dc voltage electrical connections that need to be made in the Hydrosave installation with a tool.
