The web site www.eca-water.gov.uk has been produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and HM Revenue and Customs, to provide information about the Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme for Water Technologies.
The Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme enables businesses to claim 100% first year capital allowances on investments in technologies and products that encourage sustainable water use. Businesses are now able to write off the whole cost of their investment against their taxable profits of the period during which they make the investment
Enhanced Capital Allowances will encourage businesses to invest in water saving technologies.
The Products and Claims section of the ECA scheme water website gives you details of the technologies and products that currently appear on the Water Technology List and can therefore attract ECAs, as well as giving you information on how to make a claim.
The technologies that currently appear on the Water Technology List are as follows:
We have applied to have another cataegory created that is more appropriate to our technology than any of those above, as we are unique in providing a water saver in the way that we do. Currently we are not on the list but will update this page accordingly at the appropriate time.
Only sustainable water use products meet the scheme's eligibility criteria. The Water Technology List provides detailed information on the products from all technology categories, that meet those eligibility criteria. The Energy Technology List, providing detailed information on energy saving plant and machinery, can be found at www.eca.gov.uk/etl
